About us
Olive Tree Yoga Foundation's mission is to create a powerful community of transformative leaders through the practice of yoga. OTYF is dedicated to creating yoga classes and teacher trainings accessible to all people in the Middle East, and supporting the creation of jobs for yoga teachers throughout the Middle East.

OTYF creates yoga teacher training programs for people in communities affected by conflict, which creates long-term yoga teaching jobs to support healing and transformation. We support local yoga leaders as they create change in their own communities.
We are based in Bethlehem and Beit Jala, Palestine. We work throughout the area, focusing in refugee camps and areas which are exposed to persistent conflict. Most Palestinians are unable to move or work freely throughout the region, and 40% of people living in refugee camps survive on less than $2.00 per day. OTYF has created a teacher-training program with an extensive scholarship availability for Summer 2013. Since our training is scholarship-based and locally-centered, it truly is available to and for the community. |

We support and endorse social, economic, and political justice for all peoples, and our work offers the possibility of employment, deeper health, and equality to Muslims, Jews, and Christians alike. We see ourself as part of the trajectory of the solidarity movement in Palestine and Israel, and we know that yoga can bring an inner peace to those who practice. OTYF knows that this will contribute toward a path to peace, healing and justice.
